Israeli occupation forces serving in “sensitive and dangerous” area of East Jerusalem, around Al-Aqsa Mosque, will benefit from wage increasing from this month, Israel Today reported.
The pay rise comes as a result of the increased tensions in the area after three Palestinians and two Israeli occupation soldiers were killed in the Al-Aqsa compound on Friday last week. Since then, protests have taken place at the doors of the old city every day with Israeli occupation forces using heavy handed tactics to disperse Palestinians.
As a result, Israel’s Minister of Internal Security, Gilad Erdan, and Finance Minister, Moshe Kahlon, agreed to increase the salaries of the occupation forces by 800 shekels ($160) a month.
