The Council on International Relations – Palestine has condemned the Honduran National Congress for voting to move the country’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Israeli-occupied Jerusalem. The congress backed the move in a vote on Thursday.
The CIR pointed out in a press release on Saturday that the decision contravenes international law, which affirms that Jerusalem is an occupied city.
Calling upon the Honduras government to reject the recommendation of parliament, the CIR asked for it to abide by international law and international consensus. The world community rejected the proposed transfer of the US Embassy to Jerusalem when it was announced by President Donald Trump in December.
