ICRC surgeon recounts heartbreaking losses among Gaza medical staff

Dr Tom Potokar, the ICRC’s chief surgeon, shares harrowing experiences from Gaza. He recalls a Palestinian theatre nurse receiving news of his family members’ deaths due to an Israeli air strike while assisting in surgery. This is not an isolated case, another Palestinian colleague lost his sister and her family in a similar incident.
