10 dead as booby-trapped truck explodes at checkpoint in Syria

10 people were killed yesterday when a booby-trapped truck exploded at the Shatt checkpoint in Syria’s Turkish-controlled northern city of Azaz. A medical source at the Azaz hospital also reported that some 20 people were wounded. It is unclear who was behind the attack.

Ten people were killed and 14 injured in a truck bomb attack in Syria’s northern city of Azaz yesterday, according to sources.

The vehicle exploded at a road checkpoint controlled by opposition forces. Those injured were transported to Azaz Hospital as security measures were intensified in the surrounding area.

Security forces have initiated an investigation into the attack but no group has claimed responsibility.
