Hamas has criticised the US administration’s approval of a new arms deal to Israel worth $20 billion, saying the decision confirms Washington’s complicity in the Gaza genocide.

In a statement issued yesterday, Hamas said the continued American financial and military support for Israel confirms once again that it is “a full partner in the war of genocide, ethnic cleansing and brutal massacres carried out against our Palestinian people.”

It stressed that all steps to support and back the “deviant occupation entity, in its crimes and violations, as well as its disregard for international laws and humanitarian norms; will not guarantee security or victory for the Zionist entity.”

“Our Palestinian people, our Arab and Islamic peoples, the resistance forces, and all the free people of the world will continue to confront [Israel] and its crimes until it is driven from our land,” it added.

On Tuesday evening, the Pentagon approved the sale of weapons to Israel as part of a $20 billion deal that includes F-15 fighter jets, armoured vehicles, tank shells and air-to-air missiles.
