A Hezbollah media relations official announced on Tuesday that the movement claims “full” responsibility for targeting the house of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, “the war criminal and leader of Zionist fascism.” Mohammad Afif added that the US is a full partner in the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and its people.
The announcement was made after Israel acknowledged officially that a Hezbollah drone hit Netanyahu’s house in the coastal town of Caesarea.
Afif told a press conference that Hezbollah insists that there will be no negotiations under fire. The Israeli occupation forces launched an air strike on the southern suburbs of Beirut during the press conference.
“Talk of warehouses and weapons development centres are weak justifications [for such attacks] that are simply untrue,” said Afif. “The bombing that targeted the Al-Qard Al-Hassan centres was completely unjustified. It is a licensed civilian institution. Hezbollah does not receive any [monetary] allocations from it.”
The Lebanese movement acknowledged that some of its fighters have been taken captive in Israel, but Afif did not say how many. “The occupation state is responsible for preserving their lives and health,” he said. “Statements extracted from the prisoners under pressure are absolutely worthless. Moreover, it will not be long before we have prisoners from the enemy’s soldiers… We are a people who do not leave our captives in prisons.”
While the occupation enemy has committed a series of massacres in the past few days, the most horrific of which was in Mahbib, added the Hezbollah official, the enemy has suffered heavy losses in terms of soldiers’ lives and tanks.
