Hamas yesterday criticised the Palestinian Authority’s security agencies’ ongoing arrest of Palestinian resistance members in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement, the movement described the arrests, taking place in parallel with the Israeli occupation’s aggression in the northern occupied West Bank, as “offensive behaviour and a dangerous transgression”.
It said the arrest of a resistance fighter from the Jenin Battalion, Mahmoud Jabarin, and the accompanying abuse and assault that was inflicted on him, confirms that these security services have crossed “all red lines”, threatening the national and societal fabric.
The movement noted that the PA’s security forces have previously attacked Palestinian women and suppressed many national and popular events, attacked journalists and media freedom, as part of its escalating political violations.
It called on the PA to end its shameful violations and to unify its ranks in order to confront the Israeli attacks against Palestinians everywhere.
