In their first public statement after their release from detention, the seven minor members of 7am movement have vowed to continue their anti-coup protests to restore Egypt’s legitimacy.

The Sidi Gabir Misdemeanour Court of Appeals in Alexandria acquitted the movement’s seven minor members and handed down one year suspended sentences to the movement’s 14 remaining members. The 14 girls left the Al Abaadiah Damanhur prison and headed to the Victor Emmanuel Square where their relatives, friends and colleagues had gathered to welcome them. As for the movement’s seven minor members, they were received by their relatives, friends, and political activists as they left the detention centre in the Muharram Bek area of Alexandria.
