Muslim grand Sheikh calls for people around the world to end oppression in Egypt

The Head of International Muslim Scholars Union, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, reiterated on Friday the importance of persistence in the face of the military coup in Egypt.

In its inaugural broadcast from Turkey, Rabaa TV channel broadcast Al-Qaradawi’s televised speech. He called on all Egyptians, Arabs, Muslims and free people in the world to work at ending “oppression and aggression” in Egypt.

The prominent Muslim Sheikh described what happened in Rabaa Al-Adawiyya as one of the worst massacres ever committed by a regime against its people.

It is noteworthy to know that the Sheikh announced his resignation from Al-Azhar’s Grand Sheikh’s Committee two weeks ago. He accused the committee of being “biased” against the ousted freely elected Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.

In addition, he ranted about Al-Azhar’s Grand Sheikh. Like other senior positions in the country, Al-Qaradawi considers Al-Azhar’s Grand Sheikh as being “violated by the force of weapons.” He stressed that Al-Azhar’s Grand Sheikh works for the interest of the military coup.
