Dr. Essam El-Erian, deputy head of the Freedom and Justice Party, said on Monday that everything that has been said about the Muslim Brotherhood over the last 65 years is mostly lies pumped by the international media machine against the Muslim Brotherhood.
He demanded the results of the presidential and parliamentary elections be respected in order to reach a genuine national reconciliation.
From the media center at Raba'a Aladawya El-Erian said to al-Shoroukh, "The demonstrators will remain in the square. They have proved they do not care about their lives or their blood, and anyone who wants to double check on this as a journalist or a researcher has to come to see for himself."
The Muslim Brotherhood figure called on all honest Egyptians disturbed by the scenes of bloodshed to participate in the symbolic funerals that will be held for three days. They will demonstrate solidarity with the whole of Egypt and call for an end to the bloodshed and completion of Egypt's democratic transition, without which citizens will not trust the ballot box again.
On how the Egyptian media have portrayed pro-President Morsi protesters, El-Erian confirmed that the Egyptian media is hanging itself with the chain of lies it has been releasing.
