Israeli bulldozers have demolished several Palestinian-owned homes and agricultural facilities in the northern Jordan Valley. Eyewitnesses said that the Israelis have knocked down houses and tents in the Bokayaa area and destroyed several wells used by the residents to collect water near the villages of Aqaba and Tayaseer, to the east of Tubas. The demolitions took place after the similar destruction of three houses on Monday north of Jericho.
Local sources claim that the Israelis are on standby to carry out even more demolitions on the pretext that the buildings do not have planning permission. Activists point out that this is often used as an excuse by the Israelis who are trying to drive Palestinians off their land so that even more illegal Jewish settlers can be moved in.
