Israel detains 124 Palestinians in one week

Palestinian sources said on Monday that the Israeli occupation authorities detained 124 Palestinians, including 23 minors, from across the occupied West Bank last week.

A statement issued by the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, said that the Israelis carried out a wide-ranging detention campaign against many of its supporters, leaders and elected legislators. The statement noted that three women are among those detained by the Israelis after they were kidnapped inside Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron.

Commenting on the security cooperation between the Palestinian Authority (PA) and the Israelis, Hamas said, “Of those Palestinians detained, sixteen are former prisoners held in PA prisons.”

Hamas calls such cooperation between the PA and the Israelis “the revolving door policy”, as activists released from PA prisons are re-arrested almost immediately by the Israelis, and vice-versa.
