Israeli minister urges government to resume policy of targeted assassination of Hamas leaders

February 20, 2014 at 3:33 pm

The Israeli Minister of Infrastructure, Uzi Landau, has urged his government to activate the policy of “targeted killings” and assassinations against the leaders of Palestinian Resistance factions in the Gaza Strip.

Landau urged Benyamin Netanyahu’s government to work toward making radical changes in its strategy toward the Gaza Strip, and called for the adoption of a specific approach based on attacking Hamas leaders.

On Wednesday, July 13, Landau told reporters that, “It is our duty to make it clear to Hamas’ leaders that they will personally pay the price for the resumption of firing rockets at Israel.”

Lately, there has been a notable escalation in the scale of Israeli calls for renewing and increasing covert assassinations against Hamas’ leaders.
