Netanyahu shot himself in the foot

A damning video showing Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu bragging about sabotaging the Oslo Accords was leaked to Israeli press last week. The video was made at a home visit some nine years ago, in which Netanyahu talks about his time as Prime Minister between1996-1999.

Netanyahu can be seen lounging on the family sofa and unabashedly talking about how he fooled the then American President, Bill Clinton, into thinking he was whole heartedly behind the peace agreements, by making minor withdrawals from the West Bank but in actual fact was ‘entrenching the Occupation’. He reiterated his policy was to crush the Palestinian Authority, led by Yasser Arafat back then, and the Palestinians. When asked if he was worried how the world would react he offhandedly responded by saying ‘the world will say we are defending ourselves’.
 
He continues to say ‘especially today, with America. I know what America is. America is something that can easily be moved. Moved in the right direction…they won’t get in out way’.
 
The question asked by Middle East watchers is, will Netanyahu take America for another ride?
