Obama: Uprooting IS will not be easy or quick

August 27, 2014 at 1:58 pm

US President Barack Obama said yesterday uprooting “cancer” like ISIS will not be quick and easy. He added that the US will build a coalition to fight the “barbaric terrorists”.

Obama pointed out during the American Legion National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, that: “Even as our war in Afghanistan comes to an end, we will stay vigilant.”

Obama conveyed his condolences to the family of photojournalist James Foley who was executed by Islamic State militants in Syria saying: “Our message to anyone who harms our people is simple. America does not forget, our reach is long, we are patient, justice will be done.”

A video surfaced last week showing IS militants beheading Foley who disappeared in November 2012 while covering the civil war in Syria.
