Al-Sisi gets more billions to squander

March 23, 2015 at 7:34 pm

The so-called economic conference in Egypt was more like a party held to collect money from the guests. By guests, I mean the donor countries sponsoring both the coup and this conference, particularly the Gulf counties with the notable exception of Qatar, which has taken a clear position regarding the coup against democracy and the ousting of the democratically-elected president.

The coup leader collected about $12 billion from his guests and will put every last dollar in the treasury of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces. Not the army’s treasury, because we must now distinguish between the two; there is the honourable Egyptian army that is cherished by all citizens, and then there are the members of the military council who are a corrupt gang trained in America by the US intelligence agencies to protect Israel and guard its borders.

This gang of corrupt individuals are looting the country’s wealth and were exposed by the ruler of Dubai during the conference when he said that his country has given Egypt $12 billion since the beginning of the coup. He said it in such a manner that was offensive and demeaning to Egypt, but Al-Sisi, who has degraded and insulted Egypt himself, despite its great history and civilisation, paid no attention.

As the Egyptian saying goes, “A bribe works miracles”, and Al-Sisi has been given so many bribes that he is no longer able to look his masters in the eyes, nor is he able to feed the people, who are too pure and innocent to be fed from this money which is stained with the blood of innocent Egyptians. If it weren’t for the billions of dollars showered on Al-Sisi, he would have not been able to stage his coup and kill thousands of Egypt’s best people. Damn those blood-stained billions!

The UAE was able to buy Egypt with its money. It left the party, sorry, “economic conference”, with the lion’s share of projects and direct orders from Al-Sisi himself. The individual resolutions and decisions were drafted by him, without taking into consideration the rule of law and in the absence of a legislative council to monitor these agreements and treaties and hold him accountable.

This is also the reason behind the postponement of parliamentary elections until further notice. Al-Sisi does not want anyone to hold him to account; he wants to continue to mess about with the country’s wealth and future with no one to hold him responsible.

Egypt has been sold to the UAE. A British satirist wrote that Egypt has become one of the UAE’s emirates, while another suggested that Egypt has become an Emirati company. The Egyptian parliament has been exiled in order to prevent it from warning potential investors about the consequences of any agreements made by the coup government after its inevitable demise. The parliamentarians would have made it absolutely clear that none of these agreements will be recognised so that investors would go in with their eyes open and completely aware of this fact. Instead, and in the absence of parliamentary checks and balances, the corrupt gang in charge in Cairo is gambling with the future of Egypt and generations to come.
