Hamas has denied claims by Palestinian Authority (PA) and Fatah President Mahmoud Abbas that the movement is talking with the Israeli occupation authorities, Quds Press has reported. A spokesman for the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Sami Abu-Zuhri, described the claim by Abbas as a “dirty lie”.
“If Abbas regards talking to the Israelis as a ‘conspiracy’,” added Abu-Zuhri, “then he is acknowledging that he himself is a conspirator against our people.” He insisted that Hamas refuses to conduct any kind of direct negotiations with the Israelis.
Abbas and spokesmen for Fatah have made repeated claims that Hamas is in talks with the Israeli government.
