A third UK airline is to cancel all flights to the Egyptian tourist resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
Thomson Airways said it was acting on government advice and would extend the cancellation of all its flights to Sharm el-Sheikh airport until at least March 23 next year.
“As a result of Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advice, Thomson Airways can confirm the cancellation of further outbound flights from the UK to Sharm el-Sheikh, up to and including Wednesday 23rd March 2016,” the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
Earlier, British Airways announced it would not operate flights to the resort until February 13. Budget carrier Easyjet has stopped flights until February 29.
Both airlines cited ongoing security concerns for the suspensions.
On November 17, Britain had suspended flights to Sharm el-Sheikh and advised its citizens not to travel to the resort.
This followed the crash of a Russian passenger plane in October which killed all 224 people on board.
The British government said it believed the October 31 crash at the resort had been caused by a bomb.
Thousands of British tourists were stranded at Sharm el-Sheikh in the subsequent confusion.
