PA criticises ‘continuous incitement’ of Israeli rabbis against Palestinians

March 15, 2016 at 12:59 pm

Palestinian Authority (PA) has held the Israeli government responsible for the “continuous incitement” by extremism rabbis, Quds Press reported yesterday.

In a statement, the PA foreign ministry said: “The religious edict which encourage killing and incitement which have been issued by the Rabbi [Yitzhak] Yosef and his likes are not condemned by the Israeli officials… Silence by [Benjamin] Netanyahu’s government proves its consent and the official adoption of them and their issuers.”

The PA foreign ministry also expressed its “disappointment towards the indifference of the international community towards such extreme edicts, which explicitly call for the shedding of Palestinian blood.”

Is this the Third Intifada?

Rising tensions in the Occupied Territories have led to dozens of deaths and hundreds of clashes.
Are we witnessing the Third Intifada?

According to the statement, these rulings “are being translated by the extremist Israeli settlers and soldiers by burning civilian Palestinians inside their homes, as well as by the field executions [in West Bank] and arbitrary strikes in the Gaza Strip.”

It said that these aggressions are being carried out in front of the eyes of the international community which does nothing to stop them.

The foreign ministry called on the international community to condemn these “bloody religious edicts”, as well as the silence of the Israeli governments towards them, asking for legal measures to be taken to deter people from this kind of incitement against Palestinians.
