‘90% of Syrian rockets aimed at Israel have been fired at opposition groups’

The former head of Israeli military intelligence announced on Sunday that 90 per cent of the rockets which were previously aimed towards Israel by the Assad regime have been fired at Syrian opposition groups, Arabi21 has reported. General Amos Yadlin’s remarks were delivered during a workshop in the Negev Desert.

“The Syrian army is no longer a traditional threat to Israel as it has launched more than 90 per cent of the rockets which it owned,” he said. “These are the rockets which were aimed at Israeli but have been used during the ongoing fight with the Syrian opposition.”

Regarding the withdrawal of the Russian forces from Syria, Yadlin suggested that the Russians are not telling the truth: “Most of the Russian forces are still in Syria and they are always justifying this by saying they are fighting Daesh.”

The current head of the National Research Institute added that Jewish leaders in Syria are working to promote Russian-Israeli relations from a partnership to a strategic alliance.
