Palestinian Foreign Ministry denounces Jewish decree calling for the killing of Palestinian citizens

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the decree recently issued by a number of Jewish rabbis, which allows the killing of Palestinians by opening fire on them without investigation or trial, claiming that such executions “stop the wave of Arab terrorism in the Holy Land [Israel].”

In a press release; made available to Anadolu agency, the Foreign Ministry said “such fatwas have recently taken a public and legitimate form in the Israeli society and is being considered like a point of view that can be justified and defended without accountability.”

The statement added: “While the ministry condemns, in the strongest words, the invitations, and conferences and incitement attitudes against the Palestinian people, it confirms that the outputs of this inflammatory conference from calls for killing the Palestinians, to rejection of the two-state solution, and calls to close the door of negotiations, have all become familiar stances in the Israeli society.”

On his part, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, head of the Supreme Islamic Council and preacher of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, condemned the decree, and said “terrorism has come from the Israeli occupation that practices murder, repression and torture, not from the Palestinian people. Such fatwas encourage Israeli soldiers to randomly shoot Palestinian civilians without justification.”

Sabri held the Israeli government responsible for field executions, insecurity and instability in the country.

During their participation in an emergency conference, on Monday, to discuss the issue of Israel’s security, Jewish rabbis issued a decree calling for “the killing of Palestinians and opening fire on them to stop the wave of Arab terrorism in the Holy Land,” according to their expression.
