British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson discussed bilateral relations with his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic.

A statement issued by the Serbian Foreign Ministry on Thursday evening said: “Johnson held a closed meeting with Dacic in the Serbian capital city of Belgrade, during which the ministers agreed to strengthen political dialogue and business cooperation between their countries.”

The statement also noted: “Johnson expressed his country’s continued support of Serbia in the process of it joining the EU, despite London’s Brexit decision. Dacic stressed the need to enhance relations between the two countries.”

Johnson also met with Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic on the sidelines of his visit and they discussed Serbia’s accession to the EU and strengthening relations between the two countries.

Johnson arrived in Serbia on Thursday from Kosovo and is expected to meet with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic later in the week.
