Hamas: Jerusalem Intifada will end the occupation

Gazans took to the street to protest the Israeli ban on the Islamic call to prayer in Jerusalem

The continuation of the Jerusalem Intifada is sufficient to eliminate the occupation and deter it from committing its crimes, Hamas Legislative Council member Dr Yousef Al-Sharafi stressed.

Speaking during a popular march in north Gaza in response to an Israeli ban on the call to prayer in occupied Jerusalem and in support of the Jerusalem Intifada, Al-Sharafi hailed the people of Jerusalem, their martyrs and those who have been wounded as a result of their steadfastness in the face of the occupation.

He also commended the head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, Sheikh Raed Salah, who is on trial for standing in the face of the occupation in defence of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem.

He also saluted MK Ahmad Tibi who recited the call to prayer at the Knesset headquarters in spite of the occupation.

Al-Sharafi noted that the targeting of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque is part of the plan to systematically Judaise the city, displace its people and destroy their homes.
