Kazakhstan President says country ready to host Syria talks

President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev said on Monday that his country is ready to host multilateral negotiations on the Syrian crisis.

“Kazakhstan is ready to host all sides for talks in Astana,” Nazarbayev said during his meeting with Russian President, Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Nazarbayev pointed out that his country will provide the appropriate conditions for the success of the talks.

Nazarbayev also said that he spoke on Sunday with Turkish and Iranian counterparts, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Hassan Rouhani.

“They all agree, we will create all the conditions for them to work and meet”.

On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia, Iran, Turkey and Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad had all agreed the Kazakh capital should be the venue for new Syrian peace negotiations.
