December 27, 2016 at 12:22 pm

Russian troops have found mass graves in Aleppo, the defence ministry in Moscow has announced. Some of the bodies show signs of torture and mutilation.

A spokesman for the ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, told Russia Today that dozens of bodies have been uncovered, some of them bearing gunshot wounds to the head.

Moreover, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least 63 Syrian soldiers and militiamen have been killed by booby traps in Aleppo. “Fifty-eight gunmen loyal to the Syrian regime were killed in five bombings in the formerly rebel-held neighbourhoods of Sukari and Ansari during the past 24 hours,” it reported on Sunday.
