Hezbollah to ‘surprise Israel’ at any time

July 13, 2017 at 2:29 pm

Hezbollah has warned Israel that it is ready to attack at any time in the near future and that it will “surprise the Israeli military” in any future armed conflict.

Senior Hezbollah official, Hashem Safieddine, gave the warning during an interview on the group’s Al-Manar TV channel yesterday. He also claimed that Hezbollah’s tactics have changed and developed over the past decade, and that Israel’s knowledge of the group’s weaponry is inaccurate and miscalculated.

The interview aired on the 11th anniversary of the Second Lebanon War.

The recent comments by Safieddine came a year after he gave another interview in which he claimed that “Israel is closer than ever before to its demise” and warned that “the time for operations will come.”

Recently, the group has been increasingly making threats against Israel; with Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah warning in February that his group will not abide by any “red lines” in a future confrontation in Lebanon.

A few weeks ago, Nasrallah also insisted that if Israel attacks either Syria or Lebanon then “hundreds of thousands of fighters from all around the Arab and Islamic world” will be ready to fight Israel.
