The US State Department said it had restored ten countries including three Arab countries on a list of “countries of particular concern” because they tolerate flagrant violations of religious freedoms.

The list included Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Eritrea as well as Iran, China, Myanmar, North Korea, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The State Department statement said that Pakistan has been placed on a special watch list for serious violations of religious freedom.

The State Department said that the countries were returned to the list on 22 December last year.
