The Palestinian Authority (PA) government led by Rami Hamdallah ignores the basic needs of Gaza hospitals, including fuel and medicines, and is pushing for the “dilapidation” of Gaza, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said yesterday.

In a press release, Barhoum said: “The PA government is turning its back on the needs of Gaza hospitals, including fuel and medicines. This clearly leads to … the dilapidation of Gaza.”

He added: “The PA bears all the repercussions and all the Palestinian factions must take up their responsibilities towards this intentional negligence regarding the Gaza Strip and its residents.”

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza warned that the healthcare services are at breaking point in light of the severe lack of medical equipment, spare parts, medicines and fuel.

Early today, the ministry announced the full halt of healthcare services in Beit Hanoun Hospital in the north of the besieged Gaza Strip due to the shortage of electricity, fuel and medicines.
