Jordanian King Abdullah II has said that his Kingdom had always supported a Palestinian state, stressing that this position would never change, Assabeel newspaper reported yesterday.

Speaking with a group of Jordanian writers and journalists on Thursday, the King said: “We have never seen or read about something called the ‘deal of the century’.”

According to the Jordanian writer Muhannad Mubidin, who attended the meeting, the King spoke about the details of his last visit to the US and stressed there were not talks on the “deal of the century”.

“We have not changed regarding the Palestinian issue,” he said, “we support a Palestinians state.”

“We work to bring the two negotiating parties together, but there are regional challenges and some countries trying to have roles in this file.”
