Israeli occupation forces raided a Palestinian school in occupied Jerusalem and detained its headmistress and teacher, as well as summoning others for investigation, Safa news agency reported yesterday.
Local sources told Safa that the Israeli occupation forces and intelligence services raided Muslim Girls Secondary School under the pretext that one of its rooms is used as an office for the Palestinian Education Ministry.
Occupation forces, according to sources, closed the room and detained the headmistress Ikram Al-Waheedi and another teacher. A number of other teachers were then summoned for questioning, computers and documents were also confiscated from the school.
The Palestinian Education Ministry condemned the Israeli “aggression” on the school, the detention of its headmistress and how occupation forces scared the students. In a statement, it said that this is part of the continuous Israeli aggression on the Palestinian education system in the occupied holy city.
The ministry called on the international rights groups and human rights defenders to mobilise against such violations.
