The Second Deputy Speaker of the Palestinian Parliament, Hassan Khreeshe, said on Tuesday that the Palestinian Authority’s crackdown on legitimate resistance proves its loyalty to the Israeli occupation, Al-Resalah has reported.
“Palestinian fighters represent a national case and they should be protected,” insisted Khreeshe. He called on the PA to implement a national agreement that stipulates the release of Mus’ab Shtayyeh and others, and that the authority should not crack down on Palestinian fighters “under any circumstances.”
The official added that keeping Shtayyeh and his fellow fighters in prison and preventing them from resisting the Israeli occupation proves that the PA “is still loyal” to the occupation.
It is worth noting that the PA security services cracked down on a Palestinian protest in Nablus yesterday that called for the release of political prisoners held in PA jails. Witnesses said that many protesters were wounded, while Quds Net reported that several were detained.
