The Head of Hamas’ Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, said this morning that the Palestinian resistance thwarted the Israeli occupation’s plans to divide the Palestinian people.“The Palestinian resistance has reiterated that it is able to liberate Al Aqsa Mosque,” he said. “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood is solely a Palestinian plan, decision and implementation,” he continued, adding: “This does not downplay the importance of the participation of all people and nations in the battle.”
On Saturday, the Palestinian resistance launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against Israeli military sites and settlements near the besieged Gaza Strip in response to the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem and increased settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank as well as against the suffocating siege that has been imposed on Gaza for 17 years.
In retaliation, the Israeli army initiated Operation Swords of Iron against Palestinians, launching air strikes against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
