Jordan’s air force personnel air-dropped urgent medical aid to the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza on 5 November 2023

Jordan’s King Abdullah II announced yesterday the airdrop of urgent medical and pharmaceutical aid to the Jordanian field hospital in the Gaza Strip.

The king said in a post on X, which was republished by the official Jordanian news agency, Petra, “Our fearless air force personnel air-dropped at midnight urgent medical aid to the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza.”

“This is our duty to aid our brothers and sisters injured in the war on Gaza. We will always be there for our Palestinian brethren,” he added.

An official military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces stated: “Under royal directives, a Royal Air Force plane dropped urgent medical aid using parachutes in the late hours of the night to the Jordanian field hospital, Gaza/76,  whose supplies are about to run out due to the delay in delivering aid to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing.”

He added, “The Armed Forces confirm that the hospital is continuing its work despite the severe shortage of supplies and is performing its humanitarian role to alleviate the suffering of the families in the Gaza Strip.”

On 25 October, the king ordered the field hospital to remain in the Gaza Strip, despite it being out of service and being damaged as a result of the Israeli bombing.
