Needed but not welcome: The importance of migrants in society

The word 'migrant' is too often used to indicate an unwelcome or unnecessary addition to society, but migrants are the backbone of societies, with most contributing vastly to the societies they join. With birth rates reducing in the West, can society flourish without foreign nationals?
