Kerry to meet Syrian opposition in London

US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Tuesday that he will meet with members of the Syrian opposition in London later this week. Kerry is stopping-off in London on his way back to America after a three-day visit to Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Speaking to journalists before he left Tel Aviv airport, the Secretary of State said that his meeting will include a discussion of ways to influence Syrian President Bashar al-Assad about how the battlefield in Syria will take shape. “Washington,” he added, “is considering ways to help Assad’s opponents.”
