US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Tuesday that he will meet with members of the Syrian opposition in London later this week. Kerry is stopping-off in London on his way back to America after a three-day visit to Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.
Speaking to journalists before he left Tel Aviv airport, the Secretary of State said that his meeting will include a discussion of ways to influence Syrian President Bashar al-Assad about how the battlefield in Syria will take shape. "Washington," he added, "is considering ways to help Assad's opponents."
