February 5, 2014 at 2:12 am

Egyptian security agents have arrested two students for carrying a laptop after they took part in an anti-coup demonstration in Al-Menya, 220 km to the south of Cairo, on Sunday. They were told that as the computer could store images and anti-coup logos it has the potential to threaten the security of the state and its institutions.

The arrest warrant was signed by the head of the Criminal Search Department, Hisham Nasr, and served through the Director of Al-Menya Governorate, Colonel Usama Mitwalli. The students, aged 22 and 18, were accused of “carrying a laptop during an anti-government demonstration”.
