Dr Mahmoud Ghozlan, an official spokesman of the Muslim Brotherhood, described the remarks of General Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi as indicating that the coup was nearing its end.
Dr Ghozlan said in an article that, “The massacres on Friday, August 16th in Ramses and all Egyptian governorates, proved the coup leaders are a group of thugs who have murdered and burned Egyptians, who were voicing their opinions. After the massacres, a frenzied campaign of press conferences were launched by the supposed presidency’s office, the council of ministers and the ministry of foreign affairs attempting to revamp the ugly face of the blood coup, but they cannot fool the people any longer. The press conferences were followed by remarks from the principal murderer; General Al-Sisi at a grand meeting of military and police officers inciting them to continue the killings. Al-Sisi’s remarks come from his fear that they would abandon him when their consciences’ and sense of patriotism were finally awakened”.
