Political activist wonders why massacres were committed while protest leaders are peaceful

February 7, 2014 at 3:06 pm

Egyptian political activist Asmaa Mahfouz is astonished by the massacres in Rabaa Al-Adawiya and Al-Nahda Squares being justified on the grounds of catching terrorists, while the leaders of these (terrorists) are being held without resistance.

On her Facebook page, Mahfouz wondered: “As long as the leaders of the protests are being held without any kind of resistance, why were the massacres in Rabaa Al-Adawiya and Al-Nahda Squares carried out?!”

Egyptian army and police stormed both protest camps last Wednesday and killed and wounded thousands of protesters under the pretext that terrorists were hiding there.

Among the detained protesters or Muslim Brotherhood leaders, however, no one has been reported as being violent in detention yet, and none of them were holding any kind of weapons.
