Israeli minister says Oslo and Palestinian state are dead

February 13, 2014 at 12:15 am

Israel’s Minister of the Economy, and head of the Jewish Home Party, has claimed that the Oslo Accords and idea of a Palestinian State are both “dead”. Writing on his Facebook page, Naftali Bennett said that he does not believe that negotiations with the Palestinian Authority will achieve anything.

This, he said, gave him the encouragement to stay in the coalition government, share the reality with his fellow Israelis and do “everything possible” to prevent a “disaster”.

“The truth is that the idea of a Palestinian state inside Israel has died,” he wrote. “The idea that was granted an opportunity in the nineties by most of the Israelis proved to be a killing machine; in contrast to what is being said, there are few alternatives for the Palestinian state.”
