Palestinian Islamic Jihad opposes external aggression against Syria

The Palestinian movement, Islamic Jihad, announced its opposition to any foreign aggression against any Arab or Islamic country in a statement released on Thursday.

The statement said that Islamic Jihad condemns any potential American, Western or Israeli aggression against Syria.

"As an Islamic resistance movement, we do not accept any external aggression against any Arab or Islamic country," the statement explained. "In our belief, seeking the help of a foreign colonialist against the people of our Ummah or lands is prohibited, whatever the circumstances."

Islamic Jihad said that its position on the Syrian issue was clear. "We support a political solution, which protects blood, achieves the ambitions of the Syrians, maintains the unity of the nation and the land and protects Syria from collapse and chaos," the statement said.

The second largest Palestinian Islamic movement said, "Syria's fate has to be decided by Syrians. This is an internal Syrian issue and must be decided away from any external intervention."
