Israeli forces detain 11 Palestinians in occupied West Bank

February 17, 2014 at 11:19 pm

Israeli security forces have detained 11 Palestinians in three West Bank cities in raids on Monday morning. Three of those detained are minors.

Local sources said that the soldiers damaged a lot of homes and personal property during the arrest sweep. The father of one of those arrested in Nablus was told that the soldiers were looking for weapons. “They spoiled all the furniture but found nothing,” said Ahmed Solaiman’s father. “However, he is still young and has no links to any militia organisation.”

The latest arrests of minors are part of a deliberate campaign by the Israeli occupation authorities. At least one of the boys taken into custody is just 11 years old. Eyewitnesses claim that the boys were beaten in front of their families before being taken away.

The Israeli authorities accuse the children of throwing stones at [illegal] Jewish settlers.
