In an interview to be broadcast on Friday evening, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad told Arabic Sky News that the international community and the brokers of the peace process are unable to meet their obligations. “The least of the obligations is financial support,”he said.
Fayyad pointed out that the chances of a successful peace are connected to the obligation of the US and its allies to the process. He advised them to invest their efforts in working for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in the land occupied in 1967 by Israel.
The PA official also accused Israel of trying to exploit the dire situation of the Palestinian refugees in Syria by agreeing to the return of some refugees to the West Bank as a political concession. He noted that the Palestinians do not even think about conceding their right to return.
A delegation from the Palestinian Authority is going to Syria next week to see for themselves the condition of the refugees.
