Security coordination between Israel and the Palestinian Authority is ongoing

An Israeli official has revealed that security coordination between the Israel Defence Forces and the Palestinian Authority is ongoing at all levels. This, said Brigadier General Moti Almoz, is despite the furore about the Palestinian Authority’s application for full member status at the UN.

Speaking on a radio programme, the head of the Civil Administration said: “Security and civil coordination with the Palestinian Authority is still in place to preserve the achievements made to-date as it is in the interest of both sides to do so.” General Almoz added that he will exert every possible effort to curb the violence of settlers’ “terror cells” in the occupied West Bank against Palestinian citizens and their property.
