June 19, 2014 at 2:03 pm

US Senate approved a new draft law prepared by the Sub-Committee on Appropriations which includes cutting $400 million from the annual American aid budget to Egypt in the 2015.

According to the new budget the Senate cut military aid to $1 billion, a reduction of $300 million, whilst specifying $150 million for economic aid, $100 million less than original budget.

According to Al-Jazeera Masr, the American magazine Politico said that this is the most aggressive cut taken by the House of Representatives towards Egypt, where the proposed cut in aid amounts to 26 per cent, pointing out that the American aid is dependent on how committed the new government is in its democratic path.
