Settlers attack olive pickers in Nablus

October 10, 2014 at 2:27 pm

A number of settlers assaulted a Palestinian family in the West Bank as they were harvesting olives in Yanoun, south of Nablus, yesterday.

Local sources from the village said that a group of Israeli settlers from the nearby Itamar settlement attacked a Palestinian citizen, Nabih Abu Ranan, his family and employees as they were working during the olive harvest. The settlers attacked the locals after they tried to steal the crops.

Sources said that there were clashes between the settlers and the farmers, who were trying to prevent their crops being stolen.

There have been an increasing number of settler attacks over the past year, especially during the harvest season.
