An Egyptian court in Al-Mansoura has referred 10 Egyptian students to military courts, including one woman and a university lecturer.
According to Rassd.com, the students are to be indicted over charges related to affiliating with banned groups, demonstrating without permission, attacking government facilities and rioting.
The female student, Hibah Qishteh, and three others were arrested inside the campus of Al-Mansoura University on 30 October. Qisheteh was arrested when she offered first aid to one of the students injured in the incident.
Lecturer Mohamed Sirriyyeh, an assistant professor of biochemistry, was accused of using his mobile phone to take pictures of the incident during the arrest campaign.
Rassd.com said that all the prisoners were arrested from inside the university campus. Security staff at the university and members of Falcon Company attacked the students using batons before handing them over to Interior Ministry staff.
Meanwhile, six other students were also referred to the military judiciary. They were arbitrarily arrested upon leaving the same university on 16 April last year.
