A stabbing which took place in a London tube station on Saturday night is being treated as a “terrorist incident” as witnesses reported hearing the attacker shout “This is for Syria” before attacking his victim.
Following the incident, mobile footage emerged showing police firing a Taser at the assailant before pinning him to the floor and arresting him. An onlooker can be heard shouting “You ain’t no Muslim, bruv. You’re an embarrassment.”
The video went viral and Londoners rallied behind the hashtag #YouAintNoMuslimBruv. Social media users hailed the comment as the most “London response” to terror, uniting them against extremism, terror and Islamophobia.
The attack comes only days after the UK approved a motion to join airstrikes against apparent Daesh targets in Syria.
