Dozens of civilians were killed and others injured in an international coalition bombing on the suburbs of Al-Hasakah, east of Syria.

Activists told Turkey’s Anadolu Agency that international coalition warplanes yesterday targeted a village south-west of the town of Khan near Al-Hasakah which led to the killing of 37 people and wounded 17 more including women and children. They added that the death toll is expected to rise.

According to the activists the area that was bombed is under Daesh control but was completely free of armed men.

They held the Syrian Democratic Forces, which includes a number of military groups and is led by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units, responsible for the attack saying it provided the coalition with the targets’ coordinates.

The group has been trying to progress in the region to reach the town Al-Shaddadah a Daesh stronghold in Al-Hasakah after it controlled the town of Al-Houl last month.
