‘No comparison between Palestinian and Jewish terror,’ claims Netanyahu

Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that there is “no comparison” between “Palestinian and Jewish terror”, Safa news agency has reported. “Palestinian terror and Jewish terror are different,” he told his weekly cabinet meeting. “Palestinian terror is far bigger than the Jewish terror. There is no comparison.”

The Israeli prime minister made his comments after video footage emerged of Jewish settlers stabbing a picture of a Palestinian baby who was burnt to death by extremist settlers earlier this year. His comments have been seen as an attempt to justify the attack, in which the baby’s parents were also killed.

“While the Israeli leadership condemns terror attacks carried out by Jews,” said Netanyahu, “the Palestinian Authority leadership encourages terror and incites it. It honours terrorists, names streets after terrorists and pays them salaries.”

The investigation into the killing of the Dawabsheh family in July, added the prime minister, is “going well, with the internal security agency involved carrying out very important work that respects the law and is monitored by the judiciary in a way that keeps up with the government’s policy.”
