“Jerusalem is the heart of Palestine and a future Palestinian state will have only Jerusalem as its capital,” Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said on Monday.
Abbas made his remarks during a joint press conference with Indonesian President Joko Widodo and the Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Madani following a summit held in Jakarta to find a solution to the difficulties facing Palestine.
“Together, we will continue to make every effort to provide what is needed to enhance the steadfastness of our people in Jerusalem and the rest of the Palestinian territories by mobilizing the necessary support for the implementation of the economic empowerment program I had proposed today during the extraordinary Islamic Summit, ” Abbas said.
Abbas said that he was grateful for the summit and for the attendance of delegates from OIC member countries.
